On two hours of sleep...

After a full day of flying with very little sleep, we arrive in Casablanca around noon on Thursday. We met our driver, Brahim and were off. First stop: Hassan II Mosque. This is the largest mosque in Morocco and the 13th largest in the world. We spent some time exploring the grounds and taking in our first bit of Moroccan architecture. It also has the world's tallest minaret (the tower you'll see in the pics). So many tiles!

After the mosque, we drove through Casablanca on the way to Rabat. Lots of traffic. We also drove Rick's Bar...which apparently wasn't even built when the movie was made.

We arrived in Rabat just in time to meet up with our travel companion, Mary Grace. And two more old Georgetown friends, Suzanne and Steve. After getting all checked in, we explored the local Kasbah and took a stroll down to the beach.

Then, we met our driver who took us to a classic Moroccan dinner...complete with a variety of salads and fancy tea pouring.

After dinner, we took advantage of being in a big city and got some drinks at a bar that also happened to be a boat. It was a great way to celebrate us all being together.

We made it back to our riad around 10:30 and went right to sleep!
