Another beautiful day, another beautiful national park

Since we didn’t make it to all of our stops in Yellowstone in one day, we decided to get up and be on the road by sunrise. We wanted to see Grand Prismatic Springs and the Morning Glory Pool. We checked out of our cabin and were on the road by 530am. As we drove, we realized that Morning Glory Pool was actually back at the Old Faithful site along a trail that we thought about doing the night before, but didn’t. Bummer! There was no time to go back with a busy day ahead and a flight to catch that night. But, we did stop at the Midway Geyser Basin to see Grand Prismatic Springs. If you Google this, you’ll see all sorts of colorful photos. I was excited. However, we failed to realize that since it was like 40 degrees outside that early on the
morning, all you would see is the steam rising from the thermal pools. :/ But, it was still a really cool experience with all the steam and no people around. There was only

one other couple out that early and they were just finishing up as we arrived. Next time we’ll make sure we do during the day and deal with the crowds.

Then, we drove about 1.5 hours to Grand Teton National Park. Our first stop there was Jenny Lake. We bought tickets for a round trip boat ride on the lake. The boat drops you off near a trail that takes you to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point. From the boat dock, the hike was a nice 2.5 miles loop (five or take). As we were finishing the hike, we came upon a man taking photos of...a moose....and her calf. They were just chillin on the trail having a snack.
So we stayed far away until they moved on into the forest. Super

cool!!

On the way out of the park, we stopped for pics of at the Glacier overlook and then went over to Mormon Row to get some great photos of the Tetons. We stopped at Snake River Brewing for lunch in Jackson before heading on to the airport. We enjoyed our lunch and would highly recommend this as a place to eat in the area.
